Supervision

I provide face-to-face supervision in Exeter - or online from wherever you're based - for £50 an hour. I’ve worked in clinical practice for over ten years and have completed the APT training in Providing Good Clinical Supervision (Level 2).

There are many valuable theoretical approaches to therapy, but I don't believe any single theory can do justice to our work. My integrative approach is grounded in Focusing, a somatic Person Centered model, and takes account of ecopsychology and psychodynamic theory. I'm also familiar with CBT, Existential therapy, and the Human Givens approach. I work in an embodied relational way: healing emerges from the wisdom of the body and is catalyzed by the power of the therapeutic relationship. The key to good therapy is how it’s practised, not which techniques are used. To put it more crudely, it’s not what you do; it’s the way that you do it!

My Approach to Supervision

My Supervision draws on a range of skills. The work is grounded in Support, drawing on my Counselling skills. Built onto this foundation are professional advice, direction, and information (Mentoring) and coaching-style strategies to facilitate reflection (Socratic dialogue, identifying key themes, etc.).
