Faith, Spirituality and Social Change Conference
April 2008
I co-organise this conference series, which brings together people whose action for social change is informed by their faith, organisations working with faith communities for social change, and academics exploring faith-based social change issues: http://www.fsscconference.org.uk

October 2008:
Shamanic Council of All Beings. Three day workshop in Devon. Dates tbc. Background on the previous Council.

Sustainable Activism
I’m developing a set of practical tools to help prevent activist burnout. These include techniques activists already use to stay strong, centered and sane, like yoga and spiritual practice plus newer ideas from NLP, Eco-Psychology and Core Energy Management.

Selected past presentations and events:

I spoke at the Devon & Cornwall PF conference on Saturday 10th March 2007. Us and Them: Listening to the more-than-human majority
Human beings are a discordant minority in the global choir, but Paganism can teach us some harmonies. Rituals like the Council of All Beings, experiments in perception, entheogens and bodywork can crack us open to deep dialogue with the more-than-human world. Explore - and perhaps experience – earthy reconnection.

Paper: Bodies of Faith. Presented at the first Faith, Spirituality and Social Change Conference, April 2006.

Sustainable Activism workshop at Who Cares? An open weekend gathering for people concerned about themselves, each other and the world we live in.
June - July 2006.

Paper: Bodies of Resistance: The Pagan Body in the Protest Movement.
Presented at the European Society of Philosophy Conference on Resistance, University of Greenwich, London, August 2004.

Panel respondent: Ritual Protest at The American Academy of Religion Conference, San Antonio, Texas, USA, November 2004.
